Abundant Living

I had the opportunity to launch Abundant Living, the quarterly, faith-based magazine of ALCF with a print circulation of 7K. The mission was to inspire and connect people to each other and all of the opportunities that ALCF offered.

As the editor-in-chief, art director and graphic designer, I exercised full creative license to conceive the branding which included a logotype and tagline, mission, sections, layout, etc. I used our organization's seven core values to frame the content and support our overall mission. With the assistance of two consulting journalists, I developed a creative and editorial team of volunteer section editors, writers, copy editors, proofreaders and photographers. The magazine was launched 7 months from conception. It was often said that, “we built the plane and flew it at the same time.”

Our budget allowed us to produce a print run of 13 issues spanning from spring 2007 through fall 2010.

Abundant Living magazine’s fall 2007 issue features an "extreme home makeover" by 2nd Mile for a local, community youth organization.
